GTA 6 Jason — Co-Protagonist Profile and Trailer Sightings

GTA 6 Jason is the male co-protagonist of Grand Theft Auto VI, partnered with Lucia across the state of Leonida. Rockstar Games has shown him in both the December 2023 reveal trailer and the May 2025 second trailer, but has released less personal backstory than for Lucia. What is confirmed places him at the centre of the game’s two-hander structure as her criminal and romantic partner.

Who is Jason?

Jason is one of two playable leads in Grand Theft Auto VI, the first mainline entry since 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V. The first official mention of his name came alongside the December 2023 reveal trailer on the Rockstar Games website, which described the game as following Jason and Lucia together Rockstar Games. The pairing makes him part of the first dual-protagonist setup in a Grand Theft Auto game since the three-lead structure of GTA V.

Visually, Jason is depicted as a tall, short-haired man, frequently shown in casual Florida-coded clothing — t-shirts, hoodies, tropical-print shirts. He is consistently framed beside Lucia: in robberies, in vehicles, on docks, and inside shared interiors. Rockstar has not published a detailed character bio, surname, age, or occupational history for him as of the May 2025 trailer.

Trailer appearances

Jason has been on screen in both publicly released trailers. The shots place him in a range of contexts — armed robbery, transportation, recreation, and domestic life — but never in a stand-alone “introduction” scene of his own.

In Trailer 1, Jason’s first clear appearance is during the store robbery sequence, where he wears a white t-shirt and a dark mask while carrying cash behind Lucia Trailer 1. Trailer 2 expands his on-screen time considerably, showing him in calmer beats — drinking beer with Lucia under string lights, sitting at the end of a wooden dock at sunset, and lounging on a tropical-print couch — alongside higher-energy material such as a jet ski sequence across the Vice City waterfront Trailer 2.

Relationship with Lucia

The most consistent confirmed element of Jason’s character is his partnership with Lucia. Rockstar’s framing positions the two as a couple who commit crimes together, a structure widely compared in coverage to Bonnie and Clyde. The Trailer 2 footage reinforces this in three distinct registers:

  • Romantic — sunset moments at the bar (1:19) and on the dock (1:21–1:23).
  • Domestic — shared home interiors with Lucia in everyday clothing (1:28, 2:14).
  • Operational — sequences in vehicles, on jet skis, and in masked robbery scenes.

The pairing makes Jason the second playable lead in a relationship-driven narrative — a departure from past Grand Theft Auto protagonists, who have generally been written as individuals or friends rather than romantic partners. Wikipedia’s overview of the game similarly describes Jason and Lucia as partners both criminally and personally Wikipedia.

What Rockstar has not confirmed

Several questions about Jason remain open in public materials as of May 2026:

  • Surname, age, and full background. Rockstar has not published these details.
  • Voice actor / performance capture credit. No official casting announcement has been made on the Rockstar Games Newswire.
  • Mission structure for solo Jason play. Rockstar has not described how often the player switches between Jason and Lucia, or whether either character has dedicated solo missions.
  • Pre-game history. Any prior military service, criminal record, or origin region is unconfirmed by Rockstar.

Fan discussion has filled some of these gaps with speculation, but none of it has been validated by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive in their public communications.

Status

Jason is one of two confirmed playable protagonists in Grand Theft Auto VI, paired with Lucia in a relationship-led criminal partnership set in modern-day Leonida. His character has been shown in robbery, travel, and quiet domestic contexts across both trailers, but most personal detail — name, voice cast, background — remains undisclosed. Further character information is most likely to surface in a third trailer, a Rockstar Games Newswire feature, or pre-launch press coverage closer to release.
