Editorial Policy

This page explains how vicecitydb.com decides what to publish about Grand Theft Auto VI, how we label the reliability of each claim, and how we handle corrections. Our goal is simple: readers should always be able to tell the difference between a confirmed fact and community speculation, and trace every confirmed claim back to its original source.

1. Sourcing standard

We do not publish claims without a source. For anything in our /confirmed branch, that means a primary or clearly-attributed source: an official Rockstar Games Newswire post, a first-party trailer, a Take-Two Interactive investor communication, or reporting from an established gaming outlet quoting a named developer or executive. Every confirmed article carries a citation list linking back to those sources, and a Published / Updated timestamp.

2. Three clearly-labeled branches

Not all information about an unreleased game is equal, so we separate it into three branches and label every page:

• Confirmed — verified, citable facts drawn from official or well-attributed sources.
• Rumors — leaks, fan theories, and unverified community claims. Every page in this branch opens with a disclaimer and a verification-status summary. These pages are for tracking the conversation, not for citing as fact.
• Breakdowns — original long-form analysis of publicly available material (chiefly the official trailers), citing the community analysts and video timestamps behind each observation.

3. How we verify rumors

A rumor is never presented as a fact. When we cover community speculation, we record where it originated, whether any primary source supports it, and whether tier-one outlets have corroborated it — usually in a short verification-status table. If a rumor is later confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two, the page is updated (or replaced with a confirmed article citing the primary source) and its status is changed accordingly. If it is debunked, we say so and mark it debunked rather than quietly deleting it.

4. AI-assisted, human-reviewed

We are transparent about our process. Drafting is AI-assisted: an editorial pipeline polls official and community sources, and prepares drafts that are checked against the cited sources before publication. A human reviews material for accuracy, sourcing, and labeling. We use AI as a research and drafting aid — not as a substitute for citing real sources. Pages that cannot be tied to a verifiable source are not published.

5. Corrections and updates

GTA 6 is a moving target, and we treat our pages as living documents. When facts change — a new release-date confirmation, a fresh trailer, an opened pre-order window — affected pages are updated and their Updated date is refreshed. If you spot an error or an out-of-date claim, tell us at /contact and we will correct it. Take-down requests are handled through the same channel.
