GTA 6 Characters: Confirmed Cast and Protagonists

The confirmed GTA 6 characters announced by Rockstar Games are dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, alongside named supporting figures Cal Hampton, Brian Heder, and Real Dimez. Jason and Lucia were introduced in the December 2023 reveal trailer, and the supporting cast was expanded in the May 2025 second trailer. Rockstar has not announced a primary antagonist as of May 2026.

Jason and Lucia: dual protagonists

GTA 6 is the first mainline entry since GTA V (2013) to use multiple playable leads, and the first in the HD era to feature a playable female protagonist. Lucia opens Trailer 1 inside a state correctional facility, and the trailer’s later beats — a convenience-store robbery, a roadside arrest scene, a stash of cash on a motel bed — frame the pair as criminal partners on a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style spree through the state of Leonida (Trailer 1).

Trailer 2, released on May 6, 2025, fleshes out the relationship. Jason and Lucia are shown sharing beers at a beachside bar, sitting together at the end of a dock at sunset, riding a jet ski past a yacht off the Vice City coast, and arguing inside a green-walled kitchen (Trailer 2). Rockstar has described both as protagonists of equal billing on the official site (Rockstar Games).

Lucia

  • First playable female lead in the HD-era GTA series (Wikipedia).
  • Introduced in a correctional setting in Trailer 1’s opening seconds.
  • Of Latina background, per Rockstar’s official character art and Trailer 2 dialogue beats.
  • Voice cast has not been publicly credited by Rockstar.

Jason

  • Co-protagonist, formally introduced by name in Trailer 2.
  • Background framed in Trailer 2 as having a military or law-enforcement past tied to Leonida; specifics remain unconfirmed.
  • Frequently shown driving, piloting boats, and operating alongside Lucia in heists and getaways.
  • Voice cast has not been publicly credited by Rockstar.

Confirmed supporting cast

The following named characters have been confirmed via official Rockstar materials or Trailer 2. Other on-screen figures (a sheriff, a real-estate developer, various social-media personalities) appear but have not been formally named.

Rockstar’s character listings on the official GTA 6 site (rockstargames.com/VI) provide short artwork-based bios for Cal, Brian, and Real Dimez but stop short of disclosing how each connects to Jason and Lucia’s storyline.

Unconfirmed roles and speculation

Several figures appear repeatedly in Trailer 2 without being named on Rockstar’s site:

  • A bearded man in a yellow tropical shirt seen with Jason at an underpass.
  • A sheriff or deputy speaking to a TV news crew about a “crime spree.”
  • Multiple in-world influencers and streamers featured in vertical-video segments.

Whether any of these will function as a recurring antagonist, mission-giver, or playable character is unclear. Rockstar has not commented on antagonist identity as of May 2026, and any specific naming circulating in fan communities should be treated as speculation until Rockstar issues a formal confirmation.

How the cast has been revealed

Character announcements have followed Rockstar’s usual cadence: a small, controlled drop with the first trailer, followed by a substantial expansion in the second trailer, with the official website updated to match each release.

May 6, 2025Trailer 2 releasedJason named; Cal Hampton, Brian Heder, Real Dimez introduced

Rockstar’s pattern on previous titles — GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 — has been to withhold a full cast list until launch week, with most supporting characters introduced through post-launch website updates and gameplay coverage rather than pre-release press.

Status

Five named characters are publicly confirmed for GTA 6: Jason, Lucia, Cal Hampton, Brian Heder, and Real Dimez. The dual-protagonist structure is the headline mechanical and narrative change versus GTA V’s three-lead arrangement. The identity of the primary antagonist, the full voice cast, and how the supporting characters intersect with the main heist storyline all remain unannounced. Watch the official Rockstar Games site and the Rockstar Newswire for the next character disclosures ahead of the May 26, 2026 release.
