GTA 6 Cheats

Rockstar Games has not announced any cheat codes, console commands, or built-in cheat systems for Grand Theft Auto VI as of May 2026. The two trailers released to date — December 2023 and May 2025 — do not show any cheat-related UI, and no Rockstar Newswire post has confirmed a cheat menu, phone-based codes, or developer console for the game. This page will be updated with verified codes after launch.

Status: nothing official yet

As of the publication date above, no part of the public GTA 6 marketing has addressed cheats. Rockstar’s own product page for the game lists trailers, screenshots, and platform information, but does not mention cheat codes or a debug console (Rockstar Games — Grand Theft Auto VI). Treat every “leaked cheat list” circulating online before launch as fan speculation. Even pages that look authoritative are generally repackaging GTA V codes with a “VI” badge.

There is no early-access program, no public beta, and no closed-network test that would expose real codes to the wider internet ahead of release.

How cheats have worked in past GTA games

Cheats are a long-running staple of the series, but the way they’re entered has changed almost every generation. This is the relevant baseline players ask about when searching “GTA 6 cheats”:

GamePrimary cheat inputNotable side effects
GTA III / Vice City / San AndreasKeyboard / controller button stringsDisabled some story trophies on PS2 re-releases
GTA IVIn-game mobile phone, dial-pad codesDisabled certain Achievements while active
GTA VController button strings (consoles) and phone numbersDisabled trophies/achievements for the current session; saves remained valid
GTA OnlineNo cheats — server-side anti-cheat enforcedAccount bans for third-party trainers

Two patterns hold across the modern era: cheats only affect single-player, and activating one blocks trophy/achievement progress until the session is restarted. Both are conventions, not commitments — Rockstar can change either of them in GTA VI.

What might change for GTA 6

Several design realities surrounding the new game make a one-to-one copy of GTA V’s cheat system unlikely:

  • Online-first business model. Take-Two has discussed GTA Online as a long-term service business in its investor communications (Take-Two Interactive — Investor Relations). Anything that resembles cheating is unlikely to be permitted in the online mode.
  • Live-service progression. If the single-player and online economies share any items, characters, or unlocks, Rockstar has a strong incentive to wall cheats off from any shared progression.
  • Modern anti-cheat. GTA Online’s Enhanced Edition introduced BattlEye on PC. Whatever ships with GTA VI on PC is expected to apply equivalent or stricter protections, which would block third-party trainers from day one.

None of this rules out a single-player cheat system. It does mean cheats — if they exist — will almost certainly be restricted to the offline story.

Will GTA 6 have cheats at all?

There is no confirmation either way. Rockstar has historically shipped cheats with every numbered mainline GTA title, so the base rate favors their inclusion. But the studio has not made any public statement specifically committing to cheat codes in GTA VI, and the trailers — the only first-party gameplay-adjacent material released to date — do not show any (Grand Theft Auto VI — Wikipedia).

If cheats ship, the most likely delivery vector based on the GTA V precedent is the in-game phone, since both confirmed protagonists, Jason and Lucia, are shown using smartphones in Trailer 2. A button-string fallback for controller players is also consistent with prior entries. Both predictions are inference from franchise history, not confirmation.

What to watch for at launch

When GTA VI releases, this page will be updated with:

  • The complete confirmed cheat list per platform (PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S)
  • The input method for each cheat (phone number, button combination, or console command)
  • Whether activating a cheat disables saving, trophies, or mission progress
  • Which cheats are single-player only and which, if any, function in GTA Online (expected: none)

Until then, no cheat code claimed for GTA VI in pre-launch articles, videos, or social posts can be considered verified. The most reliable signal will be Rockstar’s own support pages and the Newswire (Rockstar Games Newswire) in the week following release.
